Umul Kaltum Foundation
Umulkaltum Foundation is a non-profit organization deeply rooted in the arid lands of northeastern Kenya. Established with a commitment to uplift the most marginalized in the society, the foundation focuses on issues around Climate Change and Action, Women and Children empowerment and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). Our initiatives are implemented mostly in the Counties of Wajir, Isiolo, Garissa and Mandera within the Republic of Kenya.
With unwavering dedication, we traverse the rugged terrains of this region, forging partnerships, nurturing collaborations, and catalyzing change at the grassroots level.
What We Do
We utilize diverse methods and approaches and partnerships with other organizations to enhance efforts to improve access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene facilities to the communities. This includes working directly with communities, institutions such as school and health facilities as well as Community based organizations (CBOs).
We focus on projects within the community around climate resilience, tree cover increase, drought mitigation and food insecurity among others.
We focus on the empowerment of women and children who are among the most vulnerable in the Society. Our efforts target women leaders, children within schools and women leaders. Some of the interventions also focus on women empowerment through table banking activities.
Proud to work with the biggest organisation over the world
Clients Testimonials
I am incredibly grateful to the Umul Kaltum Foundation for their incredible generosity. Receiving this house, along with the furniture and solar system, has transformed my life. It’s more than just a home; it’s a place where I feel safe, comfortable, and empowered to build a better future.
Before the Umul Kaltum Foundation stepped in, my children and I lived in a cramped, unstable shelter. We constantly worried about leaks during the rainy season and the stifling heat during the dry months. The house they provided is a dream come true. It’s spacious, well-built, and gives my children a safe and healthy environment to grow in.
Losing my husband left me struggling to provide for my family. We were living in a small, rented room, and I was constantly worried about how I would pay the rent and put food on the table. The Umul Kaltum Foundation’s gift of a house, furniture, and a solar system has been a lifeline.
